Prize Worth Fighting For

Thank you for joining me on this OCD series! More to come! But the OCD blogs will be mingled in with other topics as well. As a conclusion to this introductory series, I wanted to share this song. I have never found a song more encouraging for OCD than this. I love it! It is not mine; it is by Jamie Kimmett.

“Lately, been down so low. My faith seems to come and go.

Some days, Father, I don’t know. How did my love grow cold?

But You help me see again. This world is not the end.

Jesus, my sweetest friend, You’re worth the suffering.

Your love is my reward. Your love is my reward.

When every day is just another struggle, and every choice is an act of war,

Gotta pray, gotta press on to the prize worth fighting for.

When it feels like I’ll never make it, when my heart’s crying out for more,

Gotta pray, gotta press on to the prize worth fighting for.

The battle rages on, but Your promise keeps me strong.

I know I’ll win this race, with Your unfailing grace.

Your love is my reward, the prize worth fighting for. Jesus, You’re worth my all.

Your love is my reward. Your love is my reward.

When every day is just another struggle, and every choice is an act of war,

Gotta pray, gotta press on to the prize worth fighting for.

When it feels like I’ll never make it, when my heart’s crying out for more,

Gotta pray, gotta press on to the prize worth fighting for.”

Remember that God offers hope to those who have none of their own merit. Our hope rests in Christ: His victory, His grace now poured out in our lives, His righteousness now imputed to us.

Because of the gift of salvation we can live everyday with the freedom to choose holiness. The Holy Spirit equips us to fight our daily battles. Every choice is an act of war, but that war’s end is already locked into place. Our armor is all ready for us. The first step we take is taking a first step.

Christ already did all that was necessary to secure the prize for us. We just have to cling to Him.

Stay in the race, friend. Victory is in view.
